This qualification has been developed for people in the food and beverage service industry. It brings together elements of food and drink preparation and service as well as supervision. This qualification is applicable to all sectors, from small restaurants to large scale hotels. 

In context of the food and beverage services sector, this qualification will enable the delivery of excellence service in guests’ service. A qualifying learner will be able to contribute positively towards the hospitality sector as a part of Southern Africa’s tourism Industry. A learner who has achieved this qualification will be capable of combining a range of life-long learning skills and knowledge of South African tourism issues, integrating these within a context to produce multi-skilled housekeeping practices.

In addition they will be positioned to further their learning, practice and career within the hospitality sector- either at further levels or in other areas of practice. Expansion into other areas of Hospitality is also possible.
